Signal & Strand seeks a Regional Sales Manager to lead day-to-day sales operations across Seattle and Portland, directly managing the account executives and sales coordinators in a hands-on, player-coach role focused on revenue targets.
Working with local Publishers and revenue leadership, you will set quotas, coach reps, manage the regional pipeline, and own the relationships with the region’s top advertisers and agency partners while building repeatable sales practices across two markets.
In a world of noise, we find the signal — the pulse of potential. We weave the strands of talent, vision, and purpose into organizations that endure. Blending intelligence with intuition, we honor the human art of connection at the heart of every great company.
We are partnered with a growing, multi-brand local media company on the search for a Regional Sales Manager. The company operates digital and print media properties in a growing number of U.S. markets, along with an event discovery brand, a ticketing platform, and additional lines of work in podcasts and live events. Its publications are the lifeblood of civic life, culture, and politics in their communities, and the company exists to sustain and scale that model by leaning into local voices and supporting them with new and diverse revenue products.
The Regional Sales Manager will lead day-to-day sales operations across the company’s flagship Pacific Northwest markets, directly managing the account executives and sales coordinators who serve Seattle and Portland. This is a hands-on, player-coach role focused on hitting revenue targets, developing a high-performing team, and selling the full portfolio of advertising, sponsorship, events, and ticketing products.
Working closely with local Publishers and reporting to the revenue leadership team, the Regional Sales Manager will set quotas, coach reps, manage the regional pipeline, and own the relationships with the region’s most important advertisers and agency partners. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building a sales strategy and getting in the field to close business alongside the team.
This organization is clear about what it is—and is not—seeking.
They are not looking for a sales manager who runs the numbers from behind a dashboard, or a top individual seller who has never had to build a team.
They are seeking a player-coach: someone who can set quotas and hold a team accountable to them, join the pitch and help close it, and personally own the region’s most important advertiser and agency relationships while building repeatable sales practices across two markets.
