Job summary

Harborview Health Systems is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as the Regional RN IV Hydration Nurse for five skilled nursing centers. This role involves assessing residents, reviewing labs, identifying hydration needs, and supporting IV hydration services.

The RN will travel between centers, collaborate with Directors of Nursing and medical providers, provide education to staff, document thoroughly, and ensure care aligns with orders and HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state(s) of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• IV therapy experience with competency in IV assessment, initiation, maintenance, and prevention of complications.
• Knowledge of hydration management, lab interpretation, infection prevention, and condition change assessment.

Responsibilities

• Visit each center monthly to assess dehydration risk and IV hydration needs.
• Review clinical information including labs, diagnoses, meds, intake/output, weights, vitals, and nursing notes.
• Identify residents who may need further medical evaluation for IV hydration.
• Communicate assessment findings to Nursing Director and medical providers.
• Complete required administrative documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain records of resident condition, orders, treatments, and follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with Nursing Directors to identify hydration concerns across centers.
• Educate staff and medical providers on dehydration signs, hydration criteria, and documentation.
