Summary
The Regional Quality Systems Manager partners with mill leadership, operations, technical, and quality individuals to reduce risk to our customers through effective quality systems implementation, and to improve the consistency and profitability of our products through a relentless focus on continuous improvement. Additionally, the Regional Quality Systems Manager shares responsibility for the proactive resolution of problems, developing quality processes, delivering training to employees, and inspecting quality control systems part of the mills’ ISO 9001:2015 standard expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy revamped Run-to-Target (RTT) program in Containerboard mills.
  • Review and analyze RTT data to identify deviations and potential improvements.
  • Assist mills to evaluate current process constraints, ways to reduce process variability, and to improve operational flexibility.
  • Facilitate proof of concept trials with mills and box plants personnel to eliminate existing restrictions and optimize system profitability.
  • Partner with mill support teams and regional OPEX resources to reduce prime losses and improve OME (Overall Machine Effectiveness).
  • Coach mills to close gaps on their Change Management processes.
  • Assist mills in implementing corrective actions deriving from quality claims and customer feedback.
  • Support audits at mills as necessary and train as ISO Lead Internal Auditor.
  • Deliver Quality System requirements training for new Quality Managers and coach them during their onboarding.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering / science.
  • Travel required to operational locations (around 60%) covering 6 paper mills.
  • Must have either corrugated box plant or paper mill background.
  • Exposure to quality management systems, leadership and management, customer relations.
  • Ability to obtain process and quality information to develop statistical analysis of performance and assist in the development of corrective action plans.
