Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management seeks a Regional Nurse Consultant to lead quality assurance and performance improvement across regional facilities. Under the Director of Clinical Services, you’ll plan, implement and evaluate programs affecting patient outcomes, utilization and ethics.

You’ll guide nursing administration, supervise staff, ensure OBRA compliance, and support DONs with leadership and training initiatives while maintaining regulatory standards and safe resident care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license in the state served.
• Experience in nursing service, administration or geriatric care.
• 2+ years in nursing administration and/or supervision.
• Desire to work with geriatric and disabled persons.
• Knowledge of OBRA, NM Regulations, Title 22, MDS/PPS.

Responsibilities

• General oversight and 24-hour support of Directors of Nursing Services.
• Visit facilities to ensure quality care and assess needs via QI/QMPIs.
• Discuss status with Regional VP and submit action plans.
• Maintain strong interpersonal relationships with nursing staff.
• Participate in recruitment, orientation, training and dismissal of staff.
• Develop and upgrade nursing service objectives and manuals.
• Promote a safe environment and disaster preparedness.
• Coordinate with MDS Coordinator on chart accuracy.
