Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics seeks a Regional Project Manager for its Kentucky team to lead multi-site projects from sales through installation and go-live. You will estimate, coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, control budgets, and ensure customer satisfaction across the lifecycle.

The role requires 5+ years in project management, an engineering degree or equivalent, and familiarity with PM tools like MS Project; PMP or MBA/MSP is a plus. 80% travel is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • MS Project or similar PM software required.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • MS Office suite proficiency, especially Excel.
  • Eligibility to work in the USA without sponsorship.
  • Experience in material handling, robotics, manufacturing or packaging preferred.
  • Financial awareness: ROI, cash flows, depreciation basics.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% and maintain schedules.

  • Review proposals, contracts and orders for accuracy and issues.
  • Estimate and direct internal resources to complete the project.
  • Maintain positive cash flow; follow up on invoices with finance.
  • Publish weekly project logs.
  • Monitor budget margin and forecast margin for major projects.
  • Prepare project correspondence and submittals (drawings, letters, docs).
  • Manage the project schedule using a Gantt chart.
  • Support Site Supervisors in the field when needed.
  • Pursue PMP certification if not already held.

Job description

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Regional Project Manager for their Kentucky team to support regional projects.

Job Overview:

The Project Manager's involvement begins in the sales cycle. This may involve estimating, solicitation of subcontractor proposals, assistance in presentations, review of proposed contracts, project scheduling and systems design. As the sales process transitions into the implementation phase, the PM takes on increasing responsibility for understanding and controlling Bastian's risk from technical, contractual, cash flow, and organizational standpoint. This may involve estimating, solicitation and selection of subcontractor proposals, assistance in presentations, defining project implementation timeline, review of contracts, and systems design. The Project Manager will stay involved and travel to the customer site throughout the installation, go-live and acceptance process ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining the project budget and timeline.

Job Functions:
  • Work with the assigned team to review proposals, contracts and new orders for accuracy and commercial and technical issues.
  • Estimate and direct internal Bastian resources necessary to successfully complete the project.
  • Maintain positive cash flow on all projects. Work with accounts and business support specialist to follow-up on past due invoices.
  • Publish weekly Project Logs.
  • Be aware of budget margin and current forecast margin +/- 1% of all major projects at all times (Typically 2-3 projects at a time).
  • Responsible for content, format and timeliness of all project correspondence and submittals including drawings, letters, equipment and controls documentation, spare parts lists, purchase orders.
  • Manage the project schedule. Use electronic Gantt chart for installed projects.
  • Support the Site Supervisors when they need help in the field.
  • Pursue PMP certification if not already certified.
Travel Requirements:
  • 80% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license
Required Qualification
s and Preferred Skills:
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Bachelors of Engineering required or Bachelors Degree with equivalent technical experience.
  • MS, MBA or PMP certification a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience in project management.
  • Experience in material handling, robotics, manufacturing or packaging preferred.
  • Experience and/or education in basic financials, conversant with concepts of project ROI, discounted cash flows, simple and compound interest and depreciation.
  • Must be extremely literate with MS Office software suite (particularly MS Excel).
  • MS Project or similar experience is required
  • AutoCAD experience is preferred.
