Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Program Support Specialist to assist the Regional Director with coordinating regional programs and initiatives for the Appalachian Trail region. The role involves supporting trail operations, volunteer engagement, partnerships, and grant administration while maintaining records and ensuring clear communication among staff, volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to three years of program coordination/administrative experience in nonprofit/government/conservation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management.
• Strong attention to detail in reports, correspondence, and materials.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative within responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides programmatic, operational, and administrative coordination for regional programs and initiatives.
• Coordinates trail operations, volunteer engagement, partnerships, grant administration, and regional operations; maintains records and supports communication among staff and stakeholders.
• Assists with Trail Crew projects, regional meetings/events, and other program initiatives.
• Administers grant programs including applications, awards, documentation, and financial reporting.
