Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Judicial Branch is seeking a Pretrial Services Region Administrator-SHIFT to oversee operations in Regions 1 and 2. This role leads regional staff, coordinates training, and ensures compliance with laws and policies while promoting efficiency and collaboration across offices.

The position supports a second/third/weekend or rotating shift, with responsibilities spanning supervision, performance management, and stakeholder coordination to advance fair administration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Sociology, psychology, or a closely related field.
• Six (6) years of related experience in pretrial services, legal, court operations, human services, or closely related field, including supervisory or lead work experience.
• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree in a related field plus additional relevant work experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree requirement.
• Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling ten (10) years may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs regional Pretrial Services staff and operations to ensure effective service delivery, operational consistency, and compliance with applicable laws, court requirements, agency policies, and departmental standards.
• Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance oversight to assigned staff, including work direction, performance evaluation, staff development, and appropriate corrective or disciplinary action to support accountability and continuity of operations.
• Manages day-to-day operations of assigned Pretrial Services offices within the region by monitoring workflow, staffing coverage, resource needs, and operational priorities to support efficient and effective program delivery.
• Develops, coordinates, and supports departmental and regional training initiatives to ensure staff have the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to perform duties in compliance with legal, procedural, and organizational requirements.
• Monitors productivity, operational effectiveness, and service quality through audits, reviews, investigations, and other evaluative measures, and recommends or implements policy, procedural, and operational improvements as needed.
• Oversees recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for regional staff and coordinates personnel-related matters in accordance with agency policies and operational needs.
• Oversees regional administrative functions including review and approval of time records, leave, travel, reports, and related documentation to ensure accuracy, accountability, and compliance.
• Maintains and strengthens collaborative relationships with staff, supervisors, judicial personnel, justices system partners, and community stakeholders, and communicates operational needs, expectations, and priorities to support effective administration of justice.
• Represents the department in meetings, trainings, committees, workgroups, and community engagement activities and contributes operational expertise in support of departmental and organizational initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned in support of regional and departmental operations.
