Job summary

TriSource is seeking a results-driven Controller to lead the Accounting Department at our Warren, OH plants. You will standardize financial reporting, drive profitability analysis, and manage budgeting and cost control across a multi-plant network.

You will oversee accounting systems, ensure GAAP compliance, and mentor staff, while collaborating with plant leadership. Willingness to travel up to 30% is required.

Responsibilities

• Standardize financial reporting and analysis across a manufacturing plant network.
• Leads and develops the Accounting Department personnel.
• Motivate staff to perform at peak levels; recommend training and compensation, and manage day-to-day People/Dept leadership.
• Maintain the company’s system of accounts and books for all transactions and assets.
• Prepare reports outlining income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and future operations.
• Support annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts preparation.
• Oversee annual standard cost budgets.
• Institute planning and control procedures (cost accounting); analyze and report variances.
• Perform tax planning and comply with federal, state and local taxes.
• Furnish internal reports and external reports as necessary.
• Determine depreciation rates and advise on operational adjustments for tax purposes.
• Manage the audit process with internal and external auditors.
• Travel to plants to collaborate with on-site accounting/finance teams and plant leadership.

Job description

• Develops, analyzes, and interprets statistical and accounting information to analyze operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
• Standardize financial reporting and analysis across a manufacturing plant network.
• Leads and develops the Accounting Department personnel.
• This individual motivates the staff to perform at peak performance, recommends training requirements, compensation levels and handles the day-to-day people management of the department.
• Standard Cost Analysis with all aspects of inventory, overhead & labor.
• Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
• Prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and future operations.
• Supports the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts.
• Responsible for annual standard cost budgets.
• Institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system) and analyzes and reports variances.
• Performs tax planning and complies with all federal, state and local, corporate, payroll, census filings and other applicable taxes.
• Furnishes internal reports.
• Revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient.
• Furnishes external reports as necessary.
• Determines depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions.
• Manages the audit process for internal and external auditors.
• Routinely travels to plants; works with and manages on-site accounting/finance teams; develops relationships with plant leadership and stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
