About the Role:

Join Neurocrine Biosciences as a Regional Patient Access Manager (RPAM) to provide support and education to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Specialty Pharmacies (SPs), and Closed Door Pharmacies (CDPs). You will maximize patient access to our products, ensure efficient distribution, and communicate coverage issues, patient financial support programs, and payer policies, with a strong understanding of regional and national payer processes. The territory includes San Diego, Santa Monica, Long Beach, Anaheim, and Irvine; candidates should reside in this area and be able to drive to these locations. Experience in Specialty Sales and Field Access is a plus.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  1. Build and maintain relationships with pharmacies, physicians, and HCPs to resolve coverage issues.
  2. Collaborate cross-functionally with sales leadership, account teams, market access, and other departments to support patient access.
  3. Provide training and education on payor policies, documentation, appeals, and patient assistance programs.
  4. Introduce and support technology solutions for electronic Patient Access submissions, explain payer criteria, and assist with coverage documentation and problem-solving.
  5. Communicate effectively and compliantly with all stakeholders to resolve coverage and access issues.
  6. Identify and report payer issues to relevant teams.
  7. Engage with local pharmacies to support services and education.
  8. Regularly update management on access opportunities and challenges.
  9. Present payer policy insights at internal reviews and sales meetings.
  10. Conduct Patient Access workshops and assist with new hire training as needed.
  11. Promote a diverse and inclusive environment free from discrimination and harassment.
  12. Support the distribution network by vetting and monitoring pharmacies.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. BS/BA degree with 6+ years in pharma/biotech, including 2+ years in specialty pharmacy/market access. CNS experience preferred. Alternatively, a Master’s/MBA with 4+ years or a PharmD/PhD with 2+ years of related experience.
  2. Strong knowledge of specialty pharmacies, managed care, PBMs, and government payers.
  3. Experience with patient support programs and reimbursement processes.
  4. Understanding of prescription adjudication and prior authorization processes.
  5. Previous experience in sales, management, marketing, or managed markets is desirable.
  6. Ability to travel up to 60% overnight, primarily within the US.
  7. Knowledge of best practices in the discipline and related business areas.
  8. Leadership skills and ability to work with and lead teams.
  9. Excellent computer, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  10. Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines.
  11. Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.

The estimated annual base salary range is $142,600 - $206,400, with individual pay depending on location, responsibilities, experience, and skills. The role includes an annual bonus target of 30%, participation in our long-term incentive program, and benefits such as retirement plans, paid leave, and health coverage.
