Job summary

RTP Company is seeking a CDL-A truck driver for regional/long-haul routes with sleeper berth duties and travel between RTP buildings and vendors. Expect 80% over-the-road miles and 20% shuttle runs between RTP facilities.

Responsibilities include following dispatch orders, performing pre/post inspections, and maintaining DOT logs. Home for 99% of weekends with occasional weeknights at home depending on loads; daily duties include safe handling of dry van and pneumatic trailers.

Qualifications

• Valid and unrestricted CDL A license.
• Must be licensed to operate a manual transmission truck.
• 2 years OTR experience.
• Maintain satisfactory driving record per DOT.

Responsibilities

• Operate sleeper truck vans and pneumatic trailers with 10-hour rest breaks away from home.
• Home for weekends; occasional weeknights home depending on loads.
• Receive and follow dispatch orders.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Hook up and drop trailers as directed by dispatch.
• Operate forklift and load/unload as needed.
• Drive per DOT/state/regulatory rules and RTP guidelines.
