Alabama Democrats is expanding its team with Regional Organizing Directors in Montgomery and Birmingham. The position is full-time, with long hours and weekend work, focusing on recruiting and training volunteers for direct voter contact and outreach across Alabama.

We seek candidates who can manage volunteers, develop leaders, and build relationships with local Democratic infrastructure, while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• No prior campaign experience required, though preferred.
• Willingness to engage in direct voter contact and daily volunteer recruitment.
• Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers preferred.
• Strong relationship-building skills and knowledge of Alabama communities.
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and communities of color.
• Proficient with Google Suite.
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Commitment to Democratic ideals and issues.

Responsabilités

• Recruit, manage, and train volunteers for direct voter contact efforts and daily recruitment.
• Plan and execute targeted race organizing plans with the Organizing Director.
• Build relationships with Democratic Party infrastructure for voter outreach.
• Train and manage Deputy Field Organizers and Field Fellows.

The Alabama Democratic Party is expanding our team in advance of the 2026 general election and is seeking multiple Regional Organizing Directors who thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. This position is full-time (approximately 50-60+ hours/week), and will require work during nontraditional hours (nights and weekends). The position will end on November 4, 2026 and will be paid out for the whole month of November.

Our initial Regional Organizing Directors will be based in Montgomery and Birmingham, with any possible future hirings being located in other targeted locations.

Description of Duties

• Recruiting, managing, and training volunteers for direct voter contact efforts. Regional Organizing Directors will be expected to knock doors and make recruitment calls everyday.
• Working with the Organizing Director to plan and execute targeted race organizing plans.
• Build relationships with existing Democratic Party infrastructure to conduct voter outreach and engagement.
• Help train and manage a team of Deputy Field Organizers and Field Fellows.
• Systematically identify and find solutions to meet training and material needs
• Assist with local and regional on-site event operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• No prior campaign experience necessary to apply, but is preferred.
• Solutions-oriented attitude and a willingness to engage in direct voter contact and volunteer recruitment every single day
• Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers in some capacity preferred.
• Excellent relationship building skills and strong knowledge of communities around the state of Alabama.
• Demonstrated experience working and effectively developing leadership within underserved communities and communities of color.
• Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders of diverse backgrounds and socio-economic levels.
• Knowledge of Google Suite.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational and analytical skills.
• A strong commitment to Democratic ideals and issues.

Logistics

• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and the ability to travel at times throughout the district for more than a day at a time.
• Must have access to a working smartphone and laptop.

Salary & Benefits

Compensation is $5,000 per month with health benefits at no cost to the employee. This is a full-time, exempt position that requires long and non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends.
