Job summary

American Welding & Gas Inc. in the North Markets region (Wisconsin/Minnesota) is seeking an Area Operations Director to oversee multiple branches, drive operational excellence, safety, and service delivery while aligning with financial goals.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years in industrial distribution or manufacturing operations, a Bachelor's degree, strong leadership, and travel willingness to cover the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of progressive operations experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or logistics.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership for multiple branch locations and facilities.
• Drive operational efficiency, service reliability, and customer satisfaction across the region.
• Champion AWG’s safety-first culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and CGA requirements.
• Oversee packaged/bulk gas distribution, including fleet management and route optimization.
• Lead, coach, and develop branch managers, operations managers, and frontline supervisors.
• Manage regional operating budgets, labor costs, and capital expenditures.
• Work with Sales, Production, Safety, HR, and Finance to align operations with business goals.
