Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational performance of 20–30 veterinary clinics across Florida.
  • Hold full accountability for regional P&L performance, including revenue growth, profitability, labor costs, expense management, and budgeting.
  • Develop and execute regional operating plans aligned with overall company objectives.
  • Partner with Practice Managers, Hospital Managers, and Medical Leaders to improve clinic performance.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, reporting processes, and accountability measures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, client retention, appointment availability, patient flow, and clinic efficiency.
  • Support the development and execution of annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
  • Review financial and operational results, identify trends, and implement corrective action where required.
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and retain high-performing clinic leadership teams.
  • Build a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with medical leadership to support clinical quality, patient safety, and professional standards.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, procedures, and operational initiatives.
  • Support new clinic openings, acquisitions, integrations, and expansion projects as required.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Recruiting, Medical Affairs, and other support departments.
  • Maintain a strong focus on client experience, team satisfaction, and the long-term success of each hospital.
  • Travel regularly throughout the region to visit clinics, meet with leaders, and assess operational performance.

Our client is seeking an experienced Regional Operations Director to lead the performance, growth, and operational excellence of a regional network of approximately 20–30 veterinary clinics across Florida.

This is a senior leadership position with full P&L responsibility, accountability for clinical and operational performance, and a strong focus on team development, client experience, and sustainable business growth.

The Opportunity

The Regional Operations Director will provide strategic and hands-on leadership to clinic leaders across the region. Working closely with medical, finance, people, and support teams, the successful candidate will ensure each hospital operates effectively while delivering high standards of patient care and client service.

This role is suited to an accomplished multi-site operations leader who can balance commercial performance with a people-first approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the operational performance of 20–30 veterinary clinics across Florida.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience leading multi-site operations, preferably within veterinary services, healthcare, medical services, retail, or another customer-focused, multi-location environment.
  • Experience managing a significant P&L across multiple sites or business units.
  • A track record of improving revenue, profitability, operational efficiency, and team performance.
  • Experience leading and developing managers across geographically dispersed locations.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and commercial acumen.
  • The ability to interpret operational data and translate insights into practical action.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • A collaborative and highly accountable leadership style.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Florida.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience within veterinary practice management, animal health, healthcare, or a comparable multi-site service environment.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, clinic growth, or organizational change.
  • Familiarity with veterinary practice management systems and operating metrics.
