Job summary

Texas Oncology seeks a Regional Float Oncology Registered Nurse to provide cross-coverage in Medical, Radiation, and Infusion units across the Dallas Fort Worth West region. Full-time, weekdays, with no weekends or major holidays.

You will rotate through clinics in Arlington, Fort Worth, and surrounding areas, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and expanding your oncology expertise.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum level 1-3 years nursing experience.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills to thrive in diverse clinical environments.
• Excellent critical thinking and communication abilities.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) or oncology/infusion/radiation experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating patient care.
• Conducting health assessments, obtaining patient histories, and providing education.
• Offering psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Safely preparing and administering therapies (medications, blood products) per protocol.
• Performing venipuncture, accessing ports, and maintaining central lines.
• Monitoring labs, dose modifications per protocol, and consulting with providers.
• Managing triage calls and symptom management with accurate documentation.
• Assisting patients in accessing community resources.
• Opportunity to cross-train into subspecialty areas as the Float Pool role evolves.
• Following the Float Pool Playbook for role- and assignment-specific expectations.
