Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Regional Float Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team, providing cross-coverage across Medical, Radiation, and Infusion nursing units in the NETX region. You will rotate through clinics in Frisco, Allen, Plano, and more, with full-time Monday–Friday schedules and no weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• RN license and current state registration.
• Current BLS certification.
• 1–3 years nursing experience; oncology/infusion/radiation preferred.
• Strong adaptability and communication; willing to cover multiple oncology areas.
• OCN certification preferred or oncology/infusion/radiation experience.
• Comfort with EHR systems (OncoEMR, Epic, or similar).
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating patient care.
• Conducting health assessments, obtaining patient histories, and providing education.
• Offering psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Safely preparing and administering therapies (medications, blood products) per protocol.
• Performing venipuncture, accessing ports, and maintaining central lines.
• Monitoring labs, facilitating dose modifications per protocol, and consulting with providers for orders.
• Managing triage calls, symptom management, and medication management with accurate documentation.
• Assisting patients in accessing community resources.
• Opportunity to cross-train and expand into subspecialty areas (Gyn Onc, BMT, Pediatrics).
• Following the Float Pool Playbook for role- and assignment-specific expectations.
