Job summary

AVIR Vista is seeking an experienced Regional Nurse Consultant to support skilled nursing facilities across West Texas. You will provide clinical leadership, education, and support to Directors of Nursing and clinical staff to drive sustained improvements in resident outcomes and regulatory compliance.

The role requires an unrestricted Texas RN license, prior DON or regional leadership experience, strong CMS/Tx LTC knowledge, and the ability to travel regularly across the Houston area.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted Texas RN license.
• Director of Nursing experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Regional or multi-facility experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS and Texas LTC regulations.
• Experience with survey readiness, quality improvement, and team development.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the Houston area.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership, education, and support to facility Directors of Nursing and clinical teams.

• Assist facilities with survey preparation, plans of correction, and ongoing CMS/Texas requirements.
• Review high-risk clinical events and help implement effective corrective actions.
• Conduct facility visits, audits, and follow-up reviews to ensure improvements are sustained.
• Mentor nursing leadership and promote accountability, consistency, and strong clinical practices.
• Collaborate with regional operations, risk management, and other company leaders.
• Support facilities during surveys, leadership transitions, and other high-risk situations.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC) to support our skilled nursing facilities in the West Texas area.
