Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. seeks a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology to advance strategic priorities. You will liaise between scientists and the company to share clinical insights, support investigator-initiated studies, and ensure adherence to GCP and SOPs.

The role requires a PhD/MD/etc. and travel up to 50% across the Southern-Midwest region, with strong communication and scientific leadership to mentor field medical teams.

Qualifications

• Proven Immunology experience in IBD beyond degree program.
• Principled verbal and written communications.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Commitment to scientific excellence and dialogue.
• Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and related guidelines.
• Ability to organize and adapt in a changing environment.
• Proficiency with Word/PowerPoint/Excel/Teams/OneNote.
• Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Engage in Scientific Exchange with national/regional SLs to share approved medical information.
• Maintain medical contact within the company and address SL inquiries.
• Direct inquiries outside scope to appropriate resources and policies.
• Maintain current knowledge of AOIs and therapeutic area.
