Merck & Co., Inc. seeks a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology to help drive strategic operating priorities.

The role covers the Upper Midwest with up to 50% travel, focusing on scientific exchange, research collaboration, and congress support within a regulatory framework. The candidate will engage with Scientific Leaders, discuss investigator-initiated studies, and help translate scientific data into strategic

Qualifications

• Three years of Immunology (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) experience beyond the terminal degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage in doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Commitment to scientific excellence and dialogue.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
• Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other industry regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with virtual meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national/regional SLs to provide company-approved information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains medical contact with SLs.
• Directs SL inquiries on out-of-scope topics to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of AOI in the therapeutic area.
• Initiates discussions with SLs/investigators to align with research strategies.
• Supports scientific congresses and data exchange; coordinates investigator communications.
