Job summary

Merck is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology to drive our Strategic Operating Priorities. This is a field-based Medical Affairs leadership role engaging with scientific leaders and advancing scientific exchange.

You will liaise between the scientific community and the Company to enhance understanding of scientific goals for trials and investigator-sponsored research, while upholding GCP and policy standards.

Qualifications

• Proven competence and three years of relevant Immunology (Inflammatory Bowel Diseases) experience beyond degree
• Principled verbal and written communications
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders
• Dedication to scientific excellence with emphasis on education and dialogue
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills
• Thorough comprehension of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other ethical guidelines, laws and regulations
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and work in a changing environment
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote)
• Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms

Responsibilities

• Scientific Exchange: Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to provide access to company-approved medical and scientific information
• Research: Initiates discussions with SLs or investigators to align with research strategies and assess scientific merit for compounds or trials
• Scientific Congress Support: Engages in scientific congresses and medical meetings to facilitate data exchange
• Scientific Insights: Gathers feedback and information to understand medical needs and priorities for SLs and patients
