Job summary

Merck is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology. The role is a director-level Medical Affairs position engaging in bidirectional scientific information exchange with Scientific Leaders and aligning with GMSA strategy and SOPs.

You will liaise between the scientific community and Merck to advance understanding of AOI goals, including approved and investigational trials, and serve as a role model for field medical

Qualifications

• Credentialed director-level Medical Affairs professional (PhD/MD/DO/PharmD/DNP).
• Engages in bidirectional scientific information exchange with Scientific Leaders.
• Provides balanced, non-product information per policies and SOPs.
• Liaises between scientific community and company to align AOI goals.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs for approved info access.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs inquiries on grants to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of dynamic scientific environment in AOI.
• Initiates discussions with SLs or investigators on data exchange and strategy alignment.
• Enhances understanding of investigator-sponsored research and facilitates site initiation where needed.
• Identifies barriers to patient enrollment and retention to support study milestones.
• Recommends study sites and investigators for phase II-IV programs; supports protocol lead activities.
