Job summary

Merck seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director to lead scientific exchange, research collaboration, and congress support across IN, KY, WV, and VA. The role requires a PhD/MD/DO/PharmD/DNP and at least 3 years of therapeutic-area experience beyond the degree.

You will engage with national SLs, manage investigator interactions, and guide protocol leadership with GCTO, while promoting an inclusive, compliant scientific culture and excellent stakeholder relations.

Qualifications

• Doctoral-level degree required (PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD).
• Minimum of 3 years in a therapeutic area beyond terminal degree.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong regulatory and ethics knowledge relevant to pharma activities.

Responsibilities

• Engages in scientific exchange with national and regional scientific leaders.
• Supports research discussions, site initiation visits, and investigator engagement.
• Leads by example in inclusive, compliant scientific affairs conduct.
• Represents company at scientific congresses and facilitates data exchange.
