Job summary

Merck is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology to drive strategic priorities across the field medical team.

The director-level role is credentialed and focuses on scientific exchange, disease expertise, and collaboration with national and regional Scientific Leaders to share non-product scientific information and support investigator-initiated studies.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be credentialed with a doctoral-level health-science degree (e.g., PhD, MD, PharmD, or DNP).
• Director-level Medical Affairs experience with scientific and clinical expertise in inflammatory bowel disease is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional Scientific Leaders to share approved medical and scientific information.
• Engages in peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a reliable medical contact within the company.
• Addresses questions outside scope (e.g., grants) by directing inquiries to appropriate company resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of scientific and clinical developments in the AOI for the therapeutic area.
