Job summary

Merck is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology. This Director-level role focuses on scientific exchange, research alignment, and investigator-sponsored studies to advance company priorities.

The MSL will liaison between the scientific community and Merck, providing balanced, factual information and onboarding other field medical team members with therapeutic expertise, while adhering to GCP

Qualifications

Credentialed medical affairs professional (MD/PhD/PharmD/DNP) for a Director-level MSL role.
Strong scientific communication and ability to discuss complex data with SLs.

Responsibilities

Develops professional relationships with national and regional Scientific Leaders to share approved medical information about areas of therapeutic interest and company products.
Engages in peer-to-peer scientific discussions to ensure medical contact within the company.
Addresses scientific questions and directs inquiries beyond scope to appropriate resources.
Maintains current knowledge of dynamic scientific and clinical environment in the AOI for the therapeutic area.
Initiates discussions with SLs or investigators to align with research strategies and study concepts.
Enhances comprehension of scientific foundations and goals of investigator-sponsored research.
Identifies barriers to patient enrollment and retention to achieve study milestones.
Recommends sites and investigators for phase II-IV programs and conducts Site Initiation Visits.
