Job summary

Merck seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director (PhD/MD/DO/PharmD) to serve as a therapeutic and disease expert. The role engages in bidirectional scientific information exchange with Scientific Leaders and provides balanced, non-product related medical insights.

The position aligns to Scientific Exchange, Research, Scientific Congress Support, and Scientific Insights, acting as a role model for field medical teams and contributing to onboarding and capability building.

Qualifications

PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond formal training.
Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and related regulatory guidelines.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to provide approved medical information.
Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains medical contact networks.
Addresses inquiries outside scope and directs to appropriate resources.
Supports research activities, site selection, and protocol discussions with investigators.
