Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care, in partnership with Mercy, seeks an Associate Medical Director (AMD) to join our leadership team in the St. Louis market. The AMD combines administrative leadership with clinical practice to drive quality and engagement across the network.

The role reports to the Market Medical Director and collaborates with operational and clinical leaders to align care delivery with GoHealth and Mercy goals, while maintaining a 0.5 FTE clinical presence for frontline connection.

Qualifications

• Board certified in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med-Peds (required).
• Minimum 2 years of clinical leadership or administrative experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or related field.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing medical teams.
• Strong operational mindset with experience working in integrated health systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and management skills.
• Recent hands-on clinical experience using current methods and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to physicians and APPs across the St. Louis market.
• Partner with the Market Medical Director and Advanced Practice Lead to implement clinical best practices.
• Recruit, onboard, schedule, and perform performance management of clinical staff.
• Collaborate with operational leadership to enhance provider performance and patient outcomes.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Represent the clinical team in leadership meetings and strategic planning.
• Maintain 0.5 FTE clinical practice to stay connected with front-line care.
• Promote a positive and inclusive team culture focused on patient satisfaction.
