Job summary

Mercy GoHealth Urgent Care seeks an experienced Associate Medical Director to join the St. Louis leadership team.

This role blends administrative leadership with hands-on clinical practice, 0.5 FTE, to connect strategy with frontline care across the market. The AMD will mentor physicians and APPs, implement clinical best practices, participate in recruiting and performance management, and collaborate with operations to improve quality and patient outcomes in a mission-driven, innovative

Qualifications

• Board-certified in one of Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Med-Peds.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical leadership or administrative experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
• Proven ability to lead and develop medical teams.
• Strong operational mindset in integrated health systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and management skills.
• Recent hands-on clinical experience with current methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and mentorship across the St. Louis market.
• Partner to implement clinical best practices and standardized care protocols.
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management of clinical staff.
• Collaborate with regional operations to enhance provider performance and patient outcomes.
• Drive quality improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Represent the clinical team in leadership and strategic planning meetings.
• Maintain 0.5 FTE clinical practice to stay connected with front-line care.
• Promote a positive, inclusive team culture focused on patient satisfaction and clinical excellence.
