Allure Healthcare Services is seeking a Regional MDS Consultant (RN) or (LPN) to oversee MDS accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance across eight skilled nursing facilities in Illinois. The role partners with facility leadership to optimize reimbursement and improve quality measures.

You will mentor MDS Coordinators, implement best practices, and ensure survey readiness while staying current with CMS regulations and PDPM requirements across the Quad Cities region.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN or LPN license is required.
• 2–3 years as an MDS Coordinator in a skilled nursing/rehabilitation setting.
• Regional or multi-facility MDS consulting experience preferred.
• Deep knowledge of MDS 3.0, RAI Manual, PDPM, Medicare Part A, Medicaid Case Mix, CMS regulations, QMs, CAAs, NFLOC.
• Experience with CMS TPE, ADR, and reimbursement audits.
• RAC-CT or RNAC certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel regularly between assigned facilities in the Quad Cities region.
• Proficiency with EMR/MDS software.

Responsibilities

• Provide regional oversight for the MDS process across 8 facilities.
• Serve as the primary clinical reimbursement resource for MDS Coordinators.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant completion of all MDS assessments.
• Monitor reimbursement opportunities while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Conduct routine facility visits to evaluate MDS performance and documentation practices.
• Develop corrective action plans and coach teams to improve outcomes.
• Provide orientation and ongoing education for MDS staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain up-to-date training materials and MDS resources.
• Communicate CMS changes and ensure implementation across facilities.
• Oversee CMS audits (TPE, ADR) and action plans as needed.
• Analyze reimbursement trends and quality measures to drive improvements.
• Prepare weekly updates on regulatory changes and facility performance.
• Assist facilities during surveys and ensure readiness for MDS-related reviews.
• Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, dietary, social services, physicians, and teams.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
