Regional Manager, Government & Corporate Affairs US

Introduction to the Team

Our Corporate Functions team supports Expedia Group through various departments such as Employee Communications, Finance, Legal, People Team, Inclusion and Diversity, and Global Social Impact and Sustainability.

Expedia Group is seeking a Regional Manager to join our Government and Corporate Affairs team. This role involves developing and leading engagement with state and local governments, aligning with our global strategy, and coordinating with internal teams including legal, policy, compliance, and communications.

As the Regional Manager supporting the Government Affairs team, you will oversee Expedia's public policy operations in this key North American region. Your responsibilities include proactively engaging with elected officials and community partners at state and local levels, and providing education and advocacy to help global audiences understand Expedia Group's policy positions.

In this role, you will:

  1. Identify and respond to regulatory challenges and opportunities, understanding local environments and developing legislative language and policy memoranda with support from Legal, Tax, Policy & Compliance, and other teams.
  2. Track proposed legislation and administrative actions, updating internal teams on potential impacts and implementation timelines.
  3. Lobby and advocate for Expedia Group’s public policy positions with legislative and executive branches at the state level, as well as with local officials.
  4. Lead government relations assets and resources, including local contract lobby teams, and manage political contributions, sponsorships, and partnerships where applicable.
  5. Serve as a policy and advocacy expert for teams across the company.
  6. Draft and deliver communication materials such as testimony, blog posts, and other content in collaboration with the Public Affairs team.
  7. Build and nurture partnerships with industry and grassroots coalitions and other policy allies in the region.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in public policy, community organization, media, communications, and advocacy strategy development and implementation.
  • Understanding of local and state government processes and structures.
  • Fluency in reading, understanding, and communicating public policy language.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to develop lobbying and advocacy strategies.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in varying stages, often under tight deadlines.
  • Creative and effective strategies to address legislative and communication challenges.
  • Comfort with making high-level recommendations and strategic decisions.

The total cash range for this position in GA, NC, or TN (VIRTUAL) is $121,000 to $169,500. Potential pay increases up to $193,500 are possible based on performance. In Atlanta, the range is $121,000 to $169,500, with similar potential for performance-based increases.

Starting pay will vary based on location, experience, and other factors. Pay ranges may be updated in the future.
