Job summary

V2X is hiring for a field service technician to support Advantor customers across the Northeast region. You will maintain and service integrated alarm intrusion systems, access control, CCTV, and GBR, while providing end-user instruction and coordinating with the support center.

The role requires hands-on experience with alarm/security hardware, valid driver's license, and the ability to travel extensively. A security clearance may be pursued as part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with 2 years of experience.
• Associate degree in Electronics/EET can substitute for experience.
• Experience with alarm, access control, and CCTV hardware is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and service repairs on alarm/intrusion systems, access control, CCTV, and GBR.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections per manufacturer recommendations.
• Provide system performance analysis on the IDS platform.
• Gather field information to reproduce issues in lab environments.
• Offer 24/7 emergency service capability as needed.
• Update and implement software upgrades as required.
• Provide end-user operational instructions during visits.
• Assist with field installations of IDS, access control, CCTV, and GBR.
• Document all service calls and maintenance needs; coordinate with support center.
• Ensure daily completion of required service documentation.
• Be on call as required; travel up to 100% will be needed.
• Maintain company vehicle and safety practices.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Duties and responsibilities for this position include providing Field Service Support for Advantor customers.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

SPECIFIC DUITES:

• Perform routine maintenance and service repairs for customers with technical, application and service related aspects of integrated alarm intrusion systems, access control systems, CCTV and GBR.

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections per manufacturer's recommendation on integrated alarm intrusion systems, access control systems, CCTV and GBR.

• Provide system performance analysis on the IDS operational platform.

• Gather information from field in order to duplicate any reported problems in lab environment.

• Provide 24 hour per day, 7 days per week emergency service capability as needed.

• Provide routine updates and implement software upgrades as needed.

• Provide informal end-user system operational instructions and support in conjunction with maintenance or service visits to customer locations.

• Assist with field installations of IDS, Access Control, CCTV and GBR systems as required.

• Document all calls for service, preventive maintenance requirements and interface with technical support center as needed.

• Ensure all required service documentation is completed daily and delivered to Service Department as required.

• On-call service as required.

• Up to 100% vehicle travel is required.

• Provide general maintenance and safe keeping of company vehicle.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge and hands on experience with electronic alarm systems, including CCTV equipment and associated hardware.

• Knowledge and hands on experience with electronic access control systems and associated hardware.

• Experience involving programming software associated with electronic alarm and access control systems.

• GBR experience is a plus.

• Two years of related college is a plus.

• General knowledge and experience with Windows 2003, 2008, XP, and 7.

• General knowledge and experience with MS Office software and CRM's.

• General computer hardware knowledge.

• Ability to work unsupervised in a team environment.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Must have valid driver's license for state of employment.

  Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

  EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with 2 years of experience.

• An Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology can be substituted for the experience.
