Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Mechanic II to perform preventative and standard maintenance on mechanical equipment across our Urbana, IL facilities. The role includes light carpentry tasks, moving furniture, hanging shelves and assisting senior facilities staff as directed.

Responsibilities cover diagnosing mechanical malfunctions in emergencies, performing preventative maintenance, and coordinating relocation of personnel and equipment.

Qualifications

• Related field experience 2+ years.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential job functions of Maintenance Mechanic I.
• Identifies and corrects equipment malfunction in emergency situations, power failure, water leaks, etc.
• Identifies and corrects mechanical and minor electrical deficiencies.
• Detects structural, general carpentry, and roofing problems and either corrects or has corrected by proper trades.
• Conducts mechanical, and to some degree electrical, preventative maintenance checks.
• Perform assigned preventative maintenance.
• Coordinates and plans relocation of personnel, furniture and equipment.
• Installs furniture, cabinetry and some light carpentry.
