Job summary

Marten Transport Logistics, LLC is seeking a Logistics Customer Service Rep to support profitable growth across regions. You will drive load counts, revenue, and margins while expanding carrier relationships and pricing strategies.

You will work with sales and management to craft pricing for large customers, monitor freight activity via EDI, and mentor new team members. A college degree is preferred and trucking industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

• Ability to solve problems efficiently and remain calm under pressure.
• Self motivated, with negotiation skills.
• Computer experience necessary: Windows and Excel or similar programs.

Responsibilities

• Drive daily and weekly load count, revenue and margin goals for a specific region.
• Develop current carrier base for consistent lane specific volumes.
• Negotiate pricing and solicit business from existing customers to secure freight for contracted carriers.
• Work with sales and management to assist in developing pricing for larger customers.
• Monitor EDI system for available freight and ensure correct reason codes on rejected shipments.
• Mentor new employees and assist in training as needed.
• Identify new traffic lanes for potential growth.
• Verify all carriers meet safety standards.
• Meet departmental and personal profit margin goals.
• Travel up to 10% of scheduled time yearly.
• Work independently and as part of a team to maximize profitability.
• Other duties as assigned by authorized personnel.
