Saia LTL Freight in Chesapeake is seeking a professional Class A CDL driver to operate tractor trailers over long distances, delivering freight safely and cost-efficiently. You will travel regionally and cross-regionally, hauling single, double, or triple trailers while following DOT procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A CDL with hazmat, tanker, and twin trailer endorsements.
• At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• No DUI, DWI, or license suspension for moving violations within the past 3 years.
• No chargeable accidents or serious traffic violations within the past 6 months.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Drives tractor trailers to deliver and pickup freight between terminals and customer facilities.
• Travels regionally and cross-regionally with single, double, or triple trailers.
• Follows pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling, and billing procedures.
• Conducts inspections following safety and quality control procedures.
• Maintains records, logs, and load-related paperwork.
