Job summary

Saia LTL Freight is seeking a professional truck driver to operate tractor trailers over long distances, delivering freight safely and efficiently. You will travel regionally or cross-regionally with various trailer configurations, while following established DOT procedures and maintaining accurate logs and load paperwork.

The role requires a valid CDL A with hazmat, tanker, and twin trailer endorsements, and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A CDL with hazmat, tanker, and twin trailer endorsements.
• At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• No DUI/DWI or license suspension for moving violations in the past 3 years.
• No chargeable accidents or serious traffic violations in the past 6 months.
• Able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Must read, write, communicate and comprehend English to perform duties and review documents.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor trailers to deliver and pickup freight between terminals and customer facilities.
• Travel regionally and cross-regionally with single, double, or triple trailers.
• Follow pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling, and billing procedures.
• Perform inspections per safety and quality control procedures.
• Hook and unhook equipment in compliance with DOT guidelines.
• Maintain records, logs, forms, and load-related paperwork.
