Job summary

Saia LTL Freight is seeking a professional Class A CDL driver to operate tractor trailers across long distances, ensuring safe, on-time deliveries and compliance with DOT regulations.

The role requires at least 1 year of verifiable driving experience, hazmat/tanker/twin trailer endorsements, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong English communication and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A CDL with hazmat, tanker, and twin trailer endorsements.
• At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• No DUI, DWI, or license suspension for moving violations in past 3 years.
• No chargeable accidents or serious traffic violations in past 6 months.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds to/from trailers.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and flexible schedules.
• Able to read/write/understand English to perform shipping documentation and communications.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor trailers on long-distance routes to deliver freight safely and efficiently.
• Travel regionally and cross-regionally with single, double, or triple trailers.
• Follow pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling, and billing procedures.
• Conduct inspections per safety and quality control procedures.
• Hook/unhook equipment in compliance with DOT guidelines.
• Maintain records, logs, forms, and load-related paperwork.
