Job summary

Fort Worth Public Library, Golden Triangle branch, invites applications for a Regional Librarian Supervisor to oversee daily operations and staff. This role focuses on delivering welcoming, accessible, and equitable library services to a diverse community.

The supervisor will manage extended hours at a seven-day-a-week regional branch, ensure high-quality customer service, and coordinate outreach programs while maintaining strong collection oversight and staff development.

Qualifications

• MLS from an ALA-accredited college or university.
• Four years of responsible professional library experience.
• Two years of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.
• Ability to communicate with customers in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day operations and staff of a branch library to ensure efficient and effective public service.
• Providing excellent customer service, including answering questions and helping customers locate materials and services of interest.
• Interpreting policy and procedures and resolving daily operational and customer issues.
• Ensuring that the location is well-ordered, appealing, and inviting; Managing the location’s overall collection, including promotion, maintenance, and weeding.
• Supervising staff, including planning and assigning work, performance management, scheduling, addressing complaints and resolving problems; training staff on basic job functions.
• Planning, implementing, and evaluating local outreach programs and services in conjunction with staff.
• Evaluating Library standards and services at location.
• Assisting customers with basic computer needs and emerging technologies.
