Job summary

Tillicum Library Operations Supervisor — a temporary 90-day role within the Pierce County Library System, assigned to the Lakewood region (Tillicum). Internal applicants only, 40 hours per week, non-exempt, with pay range $37.97–$44.01 per hour and a descriptive pay grade up to $52.54.

The position oversees library operations, staff supervision, payroll, budgeting, and service delivery while coordinating across branches in the Lakewood region. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Required)
• Three to five years library or customer service experience
• Two years of supervisory experience
• Must pass a background check
• Ability to work evenings and weekends and adapt to schedule changes

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of an assigned library within the Pierce County Library System.
• Hires, trains, supervises, coaches, develops, and evaluates staff, including vendors and contractors.
• Ensures high-quality, customer-focused library services aligned with the Library’s strategic plan.
