Job summary

The Kenan Advantage Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Technician to manage home shop operations and oversee regional shop locations in West Sacramento, CA. This role focuses on maintenance decision support, data integrity, and fleet readiness.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, relevant certifications, and the ability to travel up to 50%. The position requires strong teamwork, problem-solving, and readiness to manage multiple shops.

Qualifications

• Lead Technician with 5+ years in leadership roles.
• 5+ years heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Air brake certification per FMCSR 396.25.
• DOT commercial motor vehicle inspector certification per FMCSR.
• EPA 609 certification for Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Repair.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Advanced computer knowledge and data system literacy.
• Willingness to travel 25–50%.

Responsibilities

• Support and direct shop leads/terminal managers on maintenance decisions.
• Monitor data recording compliance and repair orders, POs, and logs.
• Review vendor repair orders and estimates for approval and payment.
• Support regional operations to meet business needs and fleet readiness.
• Maintain OOS logs and monitor equipment issues and readiness.
• Travel to shops within regions to support maintenance initiatives.
• Prepare data for OOS service equipment and collaborate with Director of Regional Maintenance.
• Monitor repair orders outstanding over seven days and follow up on delays.
• Review external invoices for accuracy and fairness.
• Attend weekly operations conference calls and report metrics to leadership.
• Evaluate staffing to meet operational and fleet needs and recommend changes.
• Provide feedback to Terminal Manager and Director on technician performance.
