Job summary

Kenan Advantage Group, Inc. seeks a Sr. Lead Technician to oversee the home shop and regional locations, ensuring safe operation and efficient maintenance of the fleet.

You will mentor Lead Technicians and Shop Foremen, manage vendor relationships, review work orders, and drive regional maintenance initiatives. Travel 25-50% to designated shops is required. Strong certifications and heavy-duty vehicle experience are essential.

Qualifications

• :5 years of Lead Technician experience or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5-years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance & repair
• Air brake certification in compliance with FMCSR 396.25
• Certified as a DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector in compliance with FMCSR's
• EPA 609 certification (Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Repair)
• Valid driver's license
• Advanced computer knowledge
• Become qualified as necessary with appropriate certifications to perform recent technology evaluations, diagnosis, and repairs
• Available to travel 25-50%

Responsibilities

• Support and direct shop leads/terminal managers on maintenance decisions in line with corporate policies.
• Monitor data recording compliance including repair orders, purchase orders, warranty items, PM reports, labor logs, system usage.
• Review vendor repair orders to authorize work and/or payment.
• Support regional operations in initiatives to move equipment and meet business needs.
• Maintain OOS logs to identify equipment issues and fleet readiness.
• Travel to shops to develop, monitor and support maintenance initiatives.
• Aggregate data for asset work sheets and estimates to determine repair value.
• Monitor repair orders open over seven days and follow up on delays.
• Review external invoices for accuracy and fairness.
• Attend weekly operations conference calls.
• Report metrics to leadership on maintenance, utilization, and staffing.
• Assess staffing levels to meet fleet needs.
• Assist with interviewing potential new technicians and make recommendations to operations.
