Job summary

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is seeking a Surveyor, Regional Lead to guide classification, certification and statutory surveys across the Hemisphere Region. You will ensure high-quality survey work and compliance with ABS rules and statutory requirements.

The role includes updating staff, delivering training, and presenting survey-related matters to regional offices, with travel to survey sites and occasional office work.

Qualifications

• Engineering or physical science degree or marine/nautical certification.
• Minimum three years of experience as Principal Surveyor.
• International assignment or exposure to international processes and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on ABS Rules, Guides and statutory requirements.
• Stay up to date with ABS rules and regulatory changes and disseminate to offices.
• Develop guidance and training for Hemisphere Region Office survey staff.
