American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is seeking a Surveyor II to perform routine surveys on classed vessels, platforms, and marine structures in Anchorage. Under supervision, you will report on compliance with ABS rules and statutory requirements for safety, loadline, tonnage, and pollution prevention.

The role requires engineering or physical science education, relevant seagoing experience or Surveyor I background, and strong ability to read plans and communicate findings in English.

Formación

• Tertiary education in engineering or physical science (min 2 years).
• Marine/nautical qualification and seagoing experience or Surveyor I experience.
• 5+ years in engineering/survey related roles within marine industry preferred.
• Appropriate certifications or licenses may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine surveys on vessels, platforms, or marine structures for classification compliance.
• Prepare technically accurate inspection reports and maintain survey files.
• Engage with clients to resolve issues and ensure adherence to ABS rules.
• Read plans and apply knowledge of shipbuilding and operations.
• Develop working knowledge of ABS Rules, guides, and safety policies.
