Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate documentation of lab orders, collections, and results within the EHR.
• Confirm timely delivery of lab specimens and escalate delays as needed.
• Maintain weekly reporting on lab draw volumes, turnaround times, and barriers.
• Notify providers and care teams of pending lab results or follow-ups.
• Liaise between providers and the laboratory team to troubleshoot issues.
• Support onboarding and training of new clinical staff on lab protocols.
• Reinforce best practices for specimen collection, labeling, storage, and documentation.
• Participate in monthly lab update calls and disseminate new procedures.
• Ensure compliance with lab safety, infection control, and HIPAA.
• Conduct regular audits of lab-related documentation to correct errors.
• Participate in regional quality improvement initiatives tied to lab services.
• Standardize workflows with the Director of Lab and other Regional Lab Coordinators.
• Attend regional operations meetings and share performance metrics and improvements.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to fill our Regional Lab Coordinator role assist with labs and phlebotomy training for our Aiken, SC patients and staff. The Regional Lab Coordinator supports the organization’s laboratory operations at the regional level. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate lab draw coordination, timely result processing, and efficient communication with providers and care teams. The coordinator serves as the point of contact for lab-related workflows in their assigned region and ensures alignment with company-wide laboratory protocols. This position will be traveling to patients' homes, facilities and clinic settings throughout the Aiken, SC area. This is a full-time, salary-based 8-hr position (8:00AM-5:00PM) (Monday-Friday).
