Job summary

SJRC Texas/Belong is seeking a Kinship Services Specialist to support DFPS conservatorship and coordinate kinship placements across Texas. You will connect families with training, case management, and financial assistance while collaborating with CPS staff and community partners.

The role emphasizes travel (up to 95%), strong organizational skills, and knowledge of kinship resources to promote safety, permanency, and well-being for children in care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Child Welfare or related field plus two years of relevant work experience, OR 60 credit hours plus two years, OR 90 credit hours plus one year.
• Experience can be substituted for education.
• 3 years of experience in child welfare.

Responsibilities

• Sustain kinship placements for children in DFPS conservatorship and refer families to supportive services.
• Coordinate services and assist families with DFPS financial assistance.
• Attend CPS meetings, case staffing, and court hearings.
• Travel up to 95% of the work week.
• Develop training for CPS staff and families on placement issues.
• Maintain case notes, evaluations, and plans for ongoing services.

Education

Associates degree in Child Welfare or related field

60 accredited college credit hours

90 accredited college credit hours

Bachelor’s degree in Child Welfare or related field
