Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of irrigation management and leadership experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of smart irrigation systems (Weathermatic, ETwater, WeatherTRAK, RainMaster, Baseline, Calsense, Rain Bird IQ, Hunter Centralus/Hydrawise).
  • Advanced knowledge of two-wire irrigation systems including controllers, decoders, grounding, wiring, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of irrigation principles, system hydraulics, design concepts, and water management strategies.
  • Ability to train and present technical information to field employees, managers, and clients.
  • Fluent communication in English and Spanish.

The Regional Irrigation Manager works closely with the Director of Water Conservation to lead irrigation operations, water management initiatives, sales growth, and training programs across multiple partner companies throughout the Northwest region.

This role serves as the organization's irrigation subject matter expert, helping branches improve water efficiency, reduce consumption, increase irrigation-related revenue, and deliver exceptional service to clients. The Regional Irrigation Manager partners with branch leadership, account managers, and field teams to implement irrigation best practices, drive business development efforts, and ensure successful execution of irrigation enhancements, upgrades, and renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities
Irrigation Operations & Water Conservation
  • Conduct irrigation audits, inspections, and site assessments to identify opportunities for water conservation and system improvements.
  • Develop and implement strategies that reduce water usage while maintaining landscape quality and client satisfaction.
  • Perform irrigation evaluations and recommend repairs, upgrades, renovations, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Assist branches in developing, monitoring, and updating water budgets that track water consumption and savings.
  • Support the irrigation startup process for all newly acquired maintenance properties.
  • Ensure newly onboarded properties are operating within established water budgets within the first 90 days.
Business Development & Sales Growth
  • Identify and develop revenue opportunities through irrigation enhancements, renovations, upgrades, and water management services.
  • Assist operations and sales teams in closing maintenance opportunities by providing irrigation expertise and consultative support.
  • Build relationships with property managers, HOAs, municipalities, commercial clients, and industry partners.
  • Deliver presentations to management companies, boards of directors, and industry groups to promote water conservation and irrigation services.
  • Stay informed on manufacturer programs, water district incentives, utility rebates, and government conservation initiatives that create value for clients.
Training & Team Development
  • Serve as the irrigation technical resource for all Northwest partner companies.
  • Develop and deliver irrigation training programs for technicians, foremen, account managers, branch managers, and operations leaders.
  • Train employees on smart controller technologies, water management systems, and irrigation best practices.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and mentor irrigation technicians throughout the region.
  • Ensure each branch maintains a properly trained and certified irrigation workforce capable of delivering high-quality service.
Leadership & Regional Support
  • Partner with branch leadership to establish irrigation standards and best practices across the organization.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for complex irrigation systems and water management challenges.
  • Assist with evaluating irrigation-related opportunities for acquisitions, new business pursuits, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Track and report regional irrigation performance, water savings, training progress, and sales results.
Key Performance Indicators
Success In This Role Will Be Measured By
  • Achievement of annual irrigation sales goals.
  • Revenue generated through irrigation enhancements, renovations, and upgrades.
  • Water savings achieved across managed properties.
  • Successful entry into new markets and client segments.

  • Properties achieving water budget targets within 90 days of contract startup.
  • Successful recruitment, training, and retention of irrigation technicians.
  • Training participation and certification completion rates throughout the region.
Requirements

  • Certified Landscape Water Manager (CLWM)
  • Landscape industry experience managing multiple regions or branches.
  • Sales and business development experience related to irrigation and water management services.
Work Environment

This position combines office, field, and client-facing responsibilities. Regular travel throughout the Northwest region is required.
