Job summary

Jobtailor in Radford, VA is seeking a motivated Business Development Coordinator to identify and recruit regional companies for high-quality paid internship programs. You will educate partners about internship value, coordinate with VEDP staff, and help design and post internship opportunities.

The role requires strong networking, CRM and Office skills, travel within the region, and the ability to attend early morning or weekend meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business development, marketing, sales, employer relations, project management, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
• Reliable high-speed home internet.
• Ability to work core hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and attend early morning, evening, or weekend meetings.
• Ability to travel regionally and to the Richmond office and in-state conferences.
• Familiarity with GO Virginia Regions 1 and 2 assets preferred.
• Experience coordinating or supporting internship programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to identify, engage, and educate regional businesses about internships.
• Coordinate with VEDP staff and partners to connect with companies developing or expanding internship programs.
• Help companies develop paid internship programs and connect with potential interns.
• Advise businesses on internship design and posting opportunities on a technology platform.
• Facilitate online training sessions on high-quality internship programs.
• Guide businesses through the Innovative Internship Fund grant process, including applications and reimbursements.
• Promote the program to partners, companies, and students via events and collaborations.
• Build partnerships with higher education, workforce, and industry organizations.
• Enter engagements, grant applications, and reimbursements in Salesforce.
• Contribute to program improvement, expansion, reporting, and evaluation.
