Regional Inspection Manager

The Regional Inspection Manager leads the region’s mechanical integrity of fixed equipment, piping, and structures at Indorama Ventures. The position requires collaboration with site inspectors and engineers to evaluate asset inspection results in accordance with industry and corporate standards. The role serves as the technical resource for all aspects related to fixed equipment mechanical integrity and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Support and implement fixed equipment mechanical integrity initiatives.
  • Monitor mechanical integrity of fixed equipment to drive improvements and corrective actions.
  • Develop risk‑based strategies and inspection plans for fixed equipment using RBI methodology.
  • Manage the region’s inspection contractor.
  • Support Capital Projects and Maintenance on fixed equipment design, construction, and replacement.
  • Provide advice, counsel, and technical support for fixed equipment mechanical integrity issues.
  • Participate with corporate mechanical integrity steering teams to establish initiatives.
  • Represent the site on corporate and industry committees involving fixed equipment when required.
  • Review inspection reports, corrective actions, and repair plans for technical quality.
  • Perform calculations to determine remaining life of fixed equipment.
  • Review inspection work plans for specialized testing such as pneumatic, acoustic emissions, and other methods.
  • Evaluate inspection deferral requests.
  • Provide technical support for welding procedures, material selection, and failure mechanisms (brittle fracture, stress corrosion cracking, corrosion under insulation, etc.).
  • Provide support for NDE methods including radiography, eddy current, phased array.
  • Consult in accordance with API and ASME standards.
  • Perform vessel and piping evaluations using COMPRESS and CAESAR II.
  • Facilitate API 579 fitness‑for‑service assessments and lead metallurgical failure analyses.
  • Work off‑shifts during turnarounds and unit outages as required.
  • Ensure compliance with integrated management systems (safety, GMP, environmental, quality, etc.).
  • Maintain a regular workplace presence and be able to work extra hours when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Assist other employees in achieving company goals.
  • Follow instructions and perform duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives and complete required training programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in fixed equipment inspection, reliability, or maintenance engineering in petrochemical or refining facilities.
  • Minimum 20 years of relevant fixed equipment inspection experience with at least ten years holding API certifications (API 510, 570, 653, Certified Weld Inspector, National Association of Corrosion Engineers) or equivalent training.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of ASINT software is a plus.
