Mechanical Inspector
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to support the mechanical integrity, reliability, and safe operation of fixed equipment and piping systems. This role partners closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and EH&S teams to proactively identify risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and prevent equipment failures.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for pressure equipment and piping integrity within assigned units
- Perform leak and failure inspections on fixed equipment and process piping and collaborate on root cause analysis
- Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans for online and out-of-service NDE of piping, tanks, and equipment
- Recommend and provide technical support for repairs, replacements, and alterations, including review and approval of repair plans and welding procedures
- Coordinate inspection activities with internal teams and external contractors, including engineering, NDE, and metallurgical support
- Track inspection intervals and consolidate inspection requirements for planned outages to meet regulatory and follow-up obligations
- Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes and pre-service testing for new or modified equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one active API certification (API 510, API 570, or API 653); second certification required within one year of hire
- At least 3 years of visual inspection experience
