First Student is seeking an Area Human Resources Manager to partner with field operations across Southern California and nearby states. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HR or related field.
• Minimum of five years of diverse HR experience with broad knowledge of recruiting, compensation, planning, employee and labor relations, and training.
• Experience supporting field operations and partnering with operational leaders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains favorable employee and labor relations within the assigned area.
• Ensures effective implementation of corporate and regional HR policies.
• Provides guidance on workforce planning and organizational development.
• Leads field operations on dispute resolution, labor contracts, and policy compliance.
• Delivers training on performance management, employment law, and employee relations.
• Oversees HR program implementation and monitors results.
• Performs workplace investigations with thorough documentation.
• Collaborates with leadership on staffing strategies and engagement initiatives.
• Acts as regional recruiting coordinator and travels to locations as needed.
• Builds strong relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.
