Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Corrections is seeking a Regional Human Resources Consultant to provide expert HR leadership and advisory support to executive management and facilities in the region. This role focuses on labor relations, performance management, investigations, and training development to advance the DOC mission.

Qualifications

• Three years of HR experience with labor relations and consultation in areas like contract interpretation, grievance administration, performance management, investigations, training development, and policy revision.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in HR or related field can substitute for one year of experience.
• Strong knowledge of labor relations laws, wage and leave policies, and union contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR leadership in support of a Regional HR Director and serve as a business partner to executive management and supervisors.
• Consult, advise, and propose solutions on employee relations matters including performance management and investigations.
• Lead HR trainings and contribute to policy development and contract interpretation.
• Coordinate with labor unions and outside agencies to ensure compliant practices.
• Assist in implementing strategic HR initiatives to support DOC missions.
