Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing programs to ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations.
  • Identifying and assessing risk conditions that could lead to occupational injuries or illnesses.
  • Investigating accidents, analyzing causes, and implementing preventive measures.

Essential functions:

  • Implement and maintain health and safety policies aligned with regulations and standards.
  • Support the implementation of Permit to Work and Lock Out Tag Out programs.
  • Conduct audits and inspections, report non-compliance, and support corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance on risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training.
  • Coordinate injury case management and monitor safety performance data.
  • Lead incident investigations and collaborate with site contacts to ensure policy adherence.
  • Prepare safety reports and promote a safety culture through communication and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, TCEQ, EPA, and other relevant regulations; experience with Federal Railroad or Shortline is a plus.
  • Understanding of Process Safety Management, Permit to Work, and LOTO programs.
  • Proven ability to develop effective safety programs and lead investigations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently, travel as needed, and work in industrial environments.

Education & Experience:

  • 5+ years in a health and safety role, preferably in oil & gas.
  • B.S. in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Sciences, or related field preferred.
  • Safety Management Systems experience; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; valid driver’s license and passport required.

Certifications:

  • Safety certification or degree; CSP and emergency response certifications preferred.

Physical requirements:

Frequent walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and navigating industrial environments. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.

The targeted compensation is $115,000 - $148,000 annually, with full medical, dental, and vision insurance from day one. Additional screening processes will follow a conditional offer. We are an equal opportunity employer and accommodate applicants' needs upon request.
