Summary

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Technical Manager to lead our Network Security team. This role requires a dynamic leader with deep technical expertise in network security and proven experience managing both internal and outsourced teams in a fast-paced, enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will be equally strong in hands-on technical execution and strategic leadership, with the ability to drive initiatives, mentor team members, and ensure operational excellence.

Your role in our mission
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Network Security and Firewall team.
  • Provide leadership and performance management for a team of 3 full-time engineers and 5+ outsourced resources.
  • Align security strategies with IT and business goals at an enterprise level.
  • Collaborate on designing and implementing secure, scalable solutions.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors for cost-effective implementation services.
  • Establish and enforce standards, guidelines, and best practices for network security.
  • Oversee network security infrastructure, including firewall rule management, hardware/software management for firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and tunnels.
  • Analyze and contribute to security device architecture, integration, and installation.
  • Evaluate and improve current network security baselines.
  • Develop technical standards and evaluate new products for security enhancements.
  • Monitor system utilization and costs to inform IT investments.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Maintain a focus on customer service and operational excellence.
What we're looking for
  • Strong knowledge of security policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting remote access and site-to-site VPNs.
  • Certifications and expertise in Palo Alto, Cisco, and Check Point firewalls.
  • Understanding of IP subnetting and network protocols.
  • Experience with cloud and virtual environments.
  • Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and apply them strategically.
  • Success in leading geographically dispersed teams and managing vendor relationships.
What you should expect in this role

This is a fully remote position open to candidates across the US.
Video cameras are required during interviews and the first week of orientation.

The pay range is $95,600 - $136,500 annually, with variations based on location, experience, and skills. Gainwell offers a flexible vacation policy, 401(k) match, health benefits, educational assistance, and leadership development programs.
